DUFH Facts

Doctors United for Haiti (DUFH) is an independent, Academic non-profit organization developed to organize, coordinate, and thereby enhance healthcare systems and services in Haiti.

DUFH will develop partnerships with Haitian healthcare professionals, hospitals and clinics throughout Haiti to help bring quality health care to Haitians through education and quality improvement.

The Mission:

The mission of DUFH is to improve health while decreasing mortality and morbidity rates in Haiti using an academic approach to reach conflict resolution. DUFH will send health care volunteers for humanitarian efforts with the main goal of sharing knowledge and skills with the Haitian healthcare professionals. Reduction of diseases and death will occur when critical information is shared, innovative best practices are identified and implemented.

Financial Independence and Accountability:

To maintain its operational independence and flexibility, DUFH will rely on private donations, grants, educational institutions and the general public.

DUFH:

The team is composed of doctors, other healthcare professionals, logistical experts, skilled workers and professionals in academia.

Medical care /Public Health/Health Policy education:

Evidence base medicine, best practices and efficient healthcare delivery systems are being identified in Haiti. Innovative strategies are being addressed by both our healthcare volunteers and our Haitian healthcare professions, in Haiti.  Through the DUFH Health Affairs Journal, we are able to share those innovative practices.
